Title: Living with cancer
Dorothy Gale had a shock when at 72 she found out that she had cancer. She had an even greater shock a few months later when she found out the treatment would cost over £20,000. Dorothy lives in Silsden and asked doctors if she could use a new drug called Oxaliplatin which she had found out about on the internet. They agreed but told her the entire treatment would then be classed as "private" and suddenly the costs started to soar. This is her story.
