Were Pope Benedict's comments anti-Islamic?
There's no question what you want to talk about today! Earlier this week, Pope Benedict gave a speech on religion and violence in Germany. He quoted a 14th Century Christian emperor who said the Prophet Muhammad had brought the world only "evil and inhuman" things. Read excerpts of the Pope's speech here.

Already Pakistan's parliament has condemned the Pope for making anti-Islamic statements. Turkey's ruling party has compared the pope to Hitler. Jordananian leaders warned he's widening the rift between Muslims and the west. Indian Muslims say he sounds like a 'medieval crusader'. And the Vatican is trying to defend him.
