Local groups awarded grants to support their work

Children in Need today announces the latest round of grants with £60,000 coming to two local groups:-

Prestatyn Cricket Club, Prestatyn - £25,500
The cash will help a project to work with young people to increase their confidence and self esteem, and improve well being by enabling them to play cricket and involving them in social activities.

Women's Aid Delyn, Holywell - £35,290
The project provides information and support to children and young people suffering from the effects of domestic abuse.

Aside from Children in Need, there are other stories of payouts today.

Cefn Mawr is to receive nearly £900,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund to continue regeneration work in the Wrexham community.

And, we hear that Flintshire Records Office, Hawarden, has been awarded a grant of more than £17,000 to help improve its facilities as part of a Welsh Assembly Goverment programme of improvements to libraries and archive offices.
