Media Brief
I'm the BBC's media correspondent and this is my brief selection of what's going on.
The Guardian says another former News of the World journalist has come forward to claim that Andy Coulson must have known about phone-hacking when he was editor. Mr Coulson, now David Cameron's head of communications, continues to deny this.
The BBC reports MPs will hold an emergency debate on the phone-hacking issue today, after several MPs claimed they were targeted.
The Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt says no decision has been taken about possible cuts to the BBC World Service reports the BBC.
Piers Morgan, former newspaper editor and talent show judge, is to take over from CNN's talk show host Larry King in January. The Independent calls it the worst-kept secret in broadcasting.
Snooker player John Higgins has been cleared of match-fixing allegations made against him by the News of the World. But he admitted bringing the game into disrepute by not reporting the illegal approach made to him to discuss throwing frames, the BBC reports.
Esther Rantzen says in the Telegraph that the BBC is being cruel to the Strictly Come Dancing contestants by subjecting them to performance-related pay. The Telegraph front page strapline reads: "I was scarred for life by Strictly". The online headline reads "Welcome back Strictly!" The articles are the same.
Google has unveiled a faster internet search engine, called Google Instant reports the BBC.
Many papers express sympathy for Prime Minister David Cameron after the death of his father as shown in the BBC newspapers review.
