I'm the BBC's media correspondent and this is my brief selection of what's going on.

Sir Martin Sorrell's M Group is now forecasting a 4.2% rise in UK advertising expenditure, led by TV, according to the Guardian.

The BBC reports that ITV postponed a Coronation Street episode featuring an armed siege following the Cumbria shootings.

The BBC has called time on Last of the Summer Wine, the world's longest-running sitcom.

The Cumbria shootings dominate the newspaper front pages.
