Podcast notes for this week

Jamillah Knowles|20:26 UK time, Tuesday, 28 October 2008

The podcast is ready and waiting for you. This week we've taken quite a journey. Here are the notes to accompany your audio trip with us this week:

  • BBC Washington gets its Tweet on.

  • How much do you know about IT in Cameroon? You'll know more if you listen closely. Also you can hear about Roland, the blues man who may soon be joining us in the podcast world.

  • Voices without votes talks back to America as they head to the polls.

  • Got a minute? You could learn something!

  • Next week plunges us into political pods and blogs. Tune in to hear more about how the web looks at the American elections.

If you have seen a blog or heard a podcast that you think we should know about, drop me a line at podsandblog -at- bbc.co.uk I'd love to hear from you.

Better late than never - podcast notes!

Jamillah Knowles|22:38 UK time, Wednesday, 22 October 2008

The notes not the podcast are belated again this week as we shuffle around changing hands here at Pods and Blogs. Here they are for this week:

  • Is web 2.0 really dead?! Tech journo and web expert Bill Thompson puts us right.

  • How much time do you spend watching short videos online? Chuck Potter is a documentary maker, his new film is called "I want my three minutes back" and he tells us all about the people who make those clips that steal hours from us everyday..

  • Mobile phone expert James Whatley dropped in to tell us the latest news for mobiles online.

  • Very soon I will be putting out a show all about books online. Audiobooks, podcast fiction, publishing online and networked publishing. If you think there is something I should know online or if you can tell me more about how you read online, you know what to do.

If you have seen a blog or heard a podcast that you think we should know about, drop me a line at podsandblog -at- bbc.co.uk I'd love to hear from you.

This week's podcast can be found here. On the segment we featured.

As mentioned on the podcast, the excellent Jamillah Knowles is going to be in charge of Pods and Blogs as I concentrate on iPM, though I'll still chip in the occasional blog post and piece of audio. Please do keep sending in ideas for items to feature in the podcast.

Posted below a YouTube photo essay about Found. Contains some swearing (so don't click if that sort of thing upsets you) and some beautiful photographs.

You can download this week's podcast here (first broadcast Tuesday). There were a few technical glitches with Rhod's ISDN line that I've edited out.

That's it for this week, do get in touch with comments thoughts and suggestions for next week. Posted below Richard Watson's talk to the RSA, well worth watching.
