Rider rumours, bikini babes and birthday renditions

It may only be my second race - and the third in this year's championship - but already the rumour mill is in full swing and the internet full of gossip about where the top four riders will end up next year.

All of them are out of contract, with a lot of speculation focusing on the future of 2007 champion Casey Stoner, who, it seems, could be on his way out of Ducati.

On arriving at Le Mans for this weekend's race, I headed to the rider news conference, which turned out to be a pretty fiery affair.

Poor Dani Pedrosa was really put under pressure when asked what he thought of Stoner's potential move to his team, Honda - you could cut the tension with a knife.

New-look Silverstone serves up a thrill

There is something unique and very special about British race tracks that makes them great venues for bikes and cars.

So you can imagine my excitement when I got asked to go to Silverstone to see the new circuit that will be home to the British Grand Prix - I jumped at the chance.

What I didn't quite bargain for was the fact that, rather than standing by the side of the track or maybe even running around it, I would be on it, on a bike, going very, very fast.
