I was just thinking how terminally sad it must be for these talentless nobodies to have nothing better to do than desperately try to re-live their fifteen minutes of mediocrity from over a decade ago, then suddenly they were gazumped in the headlines by Azil Nadir: a man propelling to new heights the definition of "who gives a s*!t?"

Seriously though, as I may be one of the first posters here I thought I aught to set a pretty low bar for contributions so the rest of you can aim at taking the "debate" downhill from here!

I used to enjoy visiting the HYS board. These days, it's not worth my time. No real debate, no truly influential discussion, nothing of interest. Can we go back to the days of interesting and informative BBC journalism, instead of this drivel, please.

Seriously, HYS is having a laugh now.

The BBC is in serious trouble. There are huge questions over its size and cost, and the increasingly crap quality of its output. HYS seems to be doing everything it can to provide the BBC's critics with ammunition.

There's so much going on in the world - the news site mentions, in no particular order, the German HIV case, the shooting of the Spanish troops in Afghanistan, Sarkozy's policy towards the Rom.....

Most importantly, as a final parting shot, Labour's failed immigration policy means that last year saw record net immigration.

Come on BBC - let's talk about that. You explain where we're going to accommodate the record numbers of immigrants YOU wanted in the country. YOU explain where the housing should go, and why we should wreck our environment for it....

But hey, no, let's talk about Take That.

Lol - well for a bunch of people who this this topic is awful and not worth commmenting on, there seems to be an awful lot of you who have apparrently wasted your time! Everyone has different interests and should be given the right to talk about them, and no one has the right to refer to that as sad. No doubt I would find many of your interests very sad but I just don't bother commenting.

I for one am happy they are back together, and yes I think it will last. The whole falling out all those years ago was due to the egos of rich young men, now they have all grown up and will be rolling in cash whether they got back together or not, therefore there is not the same level of pressure. It'll be good to see how the music has grown and to hear what they come up with. I actually like most kinds of music not just because of who is singing it but because I enjoy it. Half the stuff in the charts these days is pointless noise so something with a tune and no violent undertone would be great

No, it won't. Williams is too much of an egotist for it to survive. They'll have a couple of hits and then Williams will decide he's bigger than the band and then leave. We'll then have to endure years more of him complaining about how hard done by he is and how beastly Barlow was to him. I can't help feeling that too much attention has been paid to 'Take That' and not enough to their Glaswegian rivals "Stitch This".

Thank goodness that the BBC, on it's main website, has given time and space to the inconsequential happenings in the lives of pointless celebrities. People who say this sort of dross ought to be relegated to the "raaaydeeeeoooo wooooone" website obviously think that the BBC ought to have noticed the current parlous state of the country's finances and ought not to be so proflagate with money that they haven't actually earned but what do such people know?

Robbie Williams' career ended after the release of 'Escapaology'. But whilst there were a few slating lyrics to 'new best friend' Gary Barlow on that record, he really hasn't made anything worth listening to since that. If you remember, the Take That reunion a few years ago openly invited Robbie to join the band again, but due to the impending release of a new album, his answer was plain and simple. Having released 2 albums since then, with no singles reaching anywhere near the top spot, what else is left for a man who's own career is pretty much over and done with? One final push to be popular again. And my guess is, it won't last long at all.

Who cares - completely irrelevant in every sense!

Take That (with or without Robbie) will last as long at the record company and music execs are making money from them. As soon as their popularity begins to wane they'll be dropped like a hot potatoe and the search will begin for the 'next big thing'. It does seem this is how the music industry now works, and I guess it's part of our throw-away society.

i dislike chris moyloes but turned over today when travelling only to hear a brief snip of the interview, chris moyles spent the whole time brown nosing them, it was really bad, I have no real opinion on robbie williams of gary whats his name, and as far as i was aware take that were for teenage girls aboyut 15 yrs ago. Glad they made up and are friends, not like either one of them did anything vindictive to eachother, a few crossed words, they must have been needing some cash/publicity

this is a prime example of why the bbc needs to become a non fee service. Yesterday a cat in a wheelie bin and today about two one time band memebers making up after not talking for a few years.

Well now, there is the almost expected appearance of immigration, politics is mentioned, and even religion gets a foothold. All that's needed now is the State of Education, and we have the full set. It's almost like meeting old friends. What would HYS be without them? In an effort to keep more or less to the topic, I've lost several friends in my life. Outlived them all, but during the creative years, there was never any turbulence.

People who make it big in the world of popular culture are invariably criticised by many of those who haven't. Whenever I hear or read these snipes I always ask the same question.....

Actually, I'm sure the government does want to see it being debated.

It's the BBC that doesn't. I've noticed that in all the discussion about the 'need' for more housing, the BBC, like the last government, is lying by omission.

The basic BBC lie is to avoid admitting that providing extra housing is a threat to the enviroment. Also, because the housing will also generate the need for additional infrastructure, it's also a considerable cost.

Then, the BBC adds to that lie by allowing its journalists and interviewees to discuss the 'need' for extra housing by refusing any mention of the link between immigration and population growth, population growth and housing need.

During the last election, I heard the Greens in particular allowed to say get away with the lie that population growth was neither an environmental issue nor related to immigration.

But hey, let's pave the country over, and talk about Take That.

I really don't care. Take That didn't do anything musically significant, they just did middle of the road pop. There's nothing wrong with that, but they aren't even on the first step when it comes to those who truly put their stamp on the musical world.

On a slightly less cynical note, the reunion will last long anough to fleece some menopausal women out of a few million quid.

Personally I wish they would go away again, together with X-factor and the like however, unfortunately for me, some people actually like it. Guess I will have to switch the radio off now as well as the television.

I am a big Take That fan, I have been since I was 8yrs old (I am now 27). I do not mind if the reunion does not last, for me to be able to see them as a five piece on tour, which I never got the chance to do first time round is major dream for me!

To those who said they have not contributed anything significant, I would say you are wrong. They may not be huge in the US but they are over here with huge legion of loyal fans!They open the doors for bands similar to them to make in the music industry where they had been struggling before and they certainly were not typical manufactured group. For me, they have brought out some of the best music in the last couple of decades, but then some may disagree but that is just dependent on your taste in music!
