At last a dance/electronic blog on bbc.co.uk/dance! I'll be keeping you up to date with what's hot on this weeks show and what I'm up to around the globe. On friday night at 2100(GMT) i'll be coming live from Cafe Mambo studio in ibiza in the final warm up show befor the big one, (the 15th BBC Radio 1 Weekend next week). On this week's show the mighty Locodice is my guest on 15 Minutes Of Fame and Aeroplane do 24 Hour Party People. Plus hot new mixes from Reboot and an21/Max Vangelli - and it's my bday ! Bring it on .....
Achtung Achtung Roll up roll up for here is the beginning of something great and something new and something very exciting - a real live Radio 1 blog that is 100 per cent dedicated to rave and raving! Whoop and indeed whoop! I'm delighted to declare the Radio 1 dance blog open for business... and just in the nick of time for Radio 1's big weekend in Ibiza.
Radio 1 are broadcasting 24 hours of dance music on Friday 6 August culminating in myself and Pete's shows on Friday night coming live from Ibiza Rocks with a whole host of live superstar guests, from Tinchy Stryder to Swedish House Mafia to Mark Ronson to Chase And Status. We, my friends, are GOING IN. And that's before we even get to the club. you're gonna be hearing sets from Sven Vath, Underworld, Grandmaster Flash, Above And Beyond and all the Radio 1 dance DJ crew too... Last year the radio 1 party was suitably raucous and fun... personal memories include Vernon Kaye introducing me to a man with the word 'Monkey' tattooed in massive letters across his belly (?!?!) and helping Florence of Florence of The Machine find her lost Louboutins after dancing on the tables. All in a night's work.
so the big question is. Are you going to be there? or are you gonna be listening back home? and who and what of this year's line-up do you HAVE to hear?
