more and more of us are deciding to share our life and thoughts through the form of videoblogging..there's some really bizarre ones out there and I'd love to know which ones you watch on a regular basis. Demented Ferret e-mailed me a while back with a link to Steve Sutton's blog

    https://www.youtube.com/profile?user=suttsteve

he says... ' This guy is some sort of genius, he's 40-years-old and never leaves the house. Though the blogs never really detail anything in specific, you'll find yourself hooked. This man is amazing and I cannot get enough of him, he posts vblogs daily and it's all I look forward to throughout the day. Steve Sutton is a legend.'

what do you reckon of Steve? and who else do you watch?

so it all started from an ill informed article in the daily mail.. check it here

then there was the pages of letters in the NME and Kerrang..protesting against the 'EMO' stereotype...

now there's the EMO rangers show on MTV2

and My Chemical Romance are number 1 in the UK charts.

who's side are you on and why? we'll be discussing this on the show on sunday and need your input. What do you think of EMO music? do you think that kids who like EMO are getting an unecessarily hard time? why do you think there's been this sudden backlash? Is this bringing EMO kids closer together?

your thought and opionions please.. and send us your links for the best blogs and sites for emo lovers or haters..

so if you've already checked out Sunday's show you'll know that I attempted to break the world record for the longest even coin spin. My attempt was feeble, 6 seconds off the record..but it was fun to try..

Check out the link list to see a variation of attempts and let me know if you decide to try any for yourself! Send us the video clips!

  1. weekend manoevres..

weekend manouvres.....straight after the show I headed down to Fabric to play in Room 1 straight after Pendulum. I have never seen the club so packed.. I literally had to fight my way to the Dj booth..Pendulum were to end their DJ set by going on stage and playing three songs live for the very first time. So imagine full band set up, with hyped up MC and the biggest drumkit you've EVER seen, playing Slam and Fasten Your Seatbelts and 800 moshing clubbers... It was more like a Sepultura gig than a nightclub. Following that was haaaaard. I did my best, spinning mostly D&B for my 45 minute set ( at D&B gigs..you play for 45 mins to an hour max..). I do love spinning D&B... I'm going to do another D&B gig with Andy C in Cambridge for my Annie Mac Presents tour.

On Saturday I was to play in The Moles Club in Bath with Simian Mobile Disco. It was such a fun night. The Moles Club is a sweaty basement with the booth tucked away in the corner so everyone's on the same level..it's more like a house party than a club. After the club closed there was a special moment when myself and my friends walked outside and everyone gathered outside started singing 'We Are your Friends! You'll Never Be Alone Again' really loud as we walked away...my friends said it was like Annie Mac The Musical. Me walking into the sunset with a chorus of happy clubbers singing 'We Are Your Friends' behind me...ha ha! maybe we have something there.. who needs RENT? or WE WILL ROCK YOU! it's all about a contemporary clubbing musical!! So thanks to all the lovely people I met in Bath..check out my crap photos on my FLICKR. I've got to get a new camera..... next stop is Leicester's Shivoo this Friday....

Hey all..it's been a rainy miserable week and I'm well excited to have a weekend of adventures... starting tonight with the second installment of Annie Mac's Mash Up... we've got French house legends Cassius in the minimix and big tunes from Diplo, Eric Prydz, Cut Chemist, Mighty Dub Katz, Basement Jaxx and loads more..

I've been going through my D&B records all day as I'm playing Room 1 in Fabric tonight straight after Pendulum. I'm well excited... then tomorrow I'm heading down to Bath to the Moles Club for the third date of the AMP tour alongside Simian Mobile Disco. I've just been checking out the covermount CD on this weeks NME..it's an 'indie VS rave' mix done by Simian Mobile Disco and there's so much on there that I'm playing, on the show and out in the clubs, everyone from Digitalism to The Gossip to Para One to Klaxons... it feels like there's a real exciting thing going on here... a new rave revolution! whoop whoop!

let me know what you're up to this weekend..where you're raving? x

ps have updated my flickr with photo's from last weekends gig with Erol at Cardiff Uni..

  1. Pick N Mix...

    • Annie Mac
    • 2 Oct 06, 11:59 AM

Hey ho..it's Monday, my day off after a weekend of new shows and an Annie Mac presents night in Cardiff. I've been Djing with Erol Alkan for the last 2 Saturday nights in a row and we've been sharing a car to and from the gigs. Erol loves pick 'n mix and everytime we stop at a services he gets a big bag to munch on. I tried on Saturday, by the time I got to Cardiff Uni full of white mice and cola bottles I was feeling slightly sick and very hyper. The gig was great..biggest tunes of the night were

Daft Punk - Around The World
Fedde Le Grand - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit
Blur - Girls And Boys (Tom Middleton Re-Edit)
Bodyrox - Yeah Yeah (D Ramirez Remix)
    Mason - Exceeder
The Klaxons - Majick (SMD remix)

Erol came on after me and left everyone openmouthed and incredulous as he always does and then we drove back to London. I told him about my new Sunday show..he recommended this. It's a pastiche of the late great Rick James (the man behind Superfreak), on the Dave Chapelle show.
