BIRTHDAY

  • Annie Mac
  • 19 Jul 06, 05:09 PM

Well how hot is it? I actually have the blinds down in my livingroom to keep the sun out. I never thought I'd see the day. Am very hungover today due to my birthday celebrations in the park last night. My friends and I got carried away singing very loudly and doing cartwheels and realised we got locked into Regents Park. I still can't believe we all got over the fence...

So now I am 28 and next week my radio show is 2! You may or may not remember last years celebrations at Maida Vale studios. with High Contrast and Switch and Mylo and Alloy Mental..it was a lot of fun. This year we are keeping the celebrations studio based, with a minimix mark 2 from High Contrast and we'll be chatting to some of the people who have made our favourite music over the years including, Drumsound And Bassline Smith, Justice, Bugz In The Attic, Erol Alkan, Mylo, A Skillz and more. I want the music to be a mix of all your favourite tunes from the past 2 years so here's where you come in.

Let me know the tunes and the moments from the show that have stuck in your head since we started in July 2004. I promise we will program the whole show around your choices..

It's been a joy so far, even though i until a year ago where a cherrypopper i still have some sweet memories stuck in my head from listening to the show, one of the without doubt funniest moments on the show was the interview with Miguel from the Cuban Brothers before there minimix. I would love to hear that mystery dance move once again.

Would be great to hear any of the following:

    High Contrast - Racing Green

Brakes - All Night Disco Party (Graham Sutton Mix)

Grandadbob - Hide Me (Al Usher Remix)

Röyksopp - What Else Is There? (Thin White Duke Mix)

Justice vs Simian - We Are Your Friends

Sharon Phillips - Want 2 Need 2 (Switch Mix)

Franz Ferdinand - The Fallen (Ruined by Justice)

Tomas Andersson - Washing Up (Tiga Mix)

I found out about ALL of the above by listening to your show and they are all now in my top 10 favourite ever dance tracks!

Well done on making it to 2 years. I'm so glad that not just me, but other people appreciate such a high standard of dance music. I hope the Annie Mac show makes it to 100 so it gets a dance-y telegram from the Queen. Boosch!

Happy Birthday to you and the show Annie!

So, you want tracks to play eh? Here's a few of my favorite tracks:

    Native Force - "Rain"
    Chable & Bonicci - "Ride"
    Infusion - "Legacy"
High Contrast - "Twilight's Last Gleaming"

I also love most of the tracks that others have mentioned, especially most of Craig's suggestions. I'm sure the show will be top notch, as usual. :)

I guess there's already a lot of people who are in agreement that they'd like to hear that Rex the dog remix of the Knife's "Heartbeats" as would I! Please play it! I miss it so!
The SugarCubes "birthday" would also be fun and fitting, plus there's plenty of remixes of it if you wanted something a little more dancy.
