Hello and welcome...
Hello there, welcome to my all new BBC blog..am very chuffed to be able to keep you up to date with all my goings on and to share thoughts on all things music...
I kicked off the month at the Snowbombing festival in Mayrhofen in Austria. This involves flying a few thousand energetic clubbers to the slopes for a week of 'piste by day, beats by night'. The idea is that you spend all day snowboarding or skiing and all night raving. I went with Rachel, who produces my radio show, (see photos) and DJed on the Sunday night with DJ Touche. I ended up playing drum and bass for most of the set and really enjoyed it. The rest of the week was spent eating, partying and 'lift gliding'. This is the new sport we made up to do instead of boarding. It involves navigating yourself across the mountain range on the lifts, and stopping at each bar/restaurant for a beer. We got some strange looks from people, with our jeans and our handbags but it was worth it for the breathtaking scenery..Check out last week's One World to sample some of the musical highlights from the snowbombing festival.
This week I've been listening to mountains of music and I did Zane Lowes show for him on tuesday. I'll be covering for him tonight aswell which means its a 4 hour Thursday extravaganza for me! We have new music tonight from Gnarls Barkely, Klute, Juan Maclean, The Knife, Tiga and Soul Of Man and a minimix from rising D&B star Cyantific. Am also going to play my biggest tune of the moment, Christopher and Raphel Just's - Popper on Kitsune. It's the new Alter Ego 'Rocker' but I think it might be better. Controversial!

Annie - welcome to the blogosphere! I've been reading the MacChat for a while but this is going to be such an improvement. Good to see ya leading the way for R1 DJs in doin' stuff like this. What's it like doin' Zane's show? Do you get nervous? Think you sound wicked...Wow, just seen you've got a flickr site too!

Listen to your show frequently. I like to listen to Zane Lowe also. I think the music scene is red hot just now. I love Phoenix Long Distant call at the mo amongst everything else the list would be endless. Do you snowboard ? I love the Pong song...Gnarls Barkley St Elsewhere will definately be in my cd collection. Kayne West sounding good Through the Wire I love that track. Can't stopper, as in I am whole heartedly addicted. Yet another vice to add to the list - although this one is good for me Im sure.
Loving the tunes - find me 'J-Laze Summertime' cos it is definitely summer time out here in NYc and I need a summer tune.

Great to hear two Justice tracks (well, remixes) in the space of half an hour! And Popper, Gnarls Barkley, Metric - the quality of the music is just incomparable to any other show on the air.
That snowboarding festival sounds immense. I am jealous beyond words and reason.
How's about a myspace add? Come on, I must be one of the most loyal can't-stoppers ever!

Just wondering .. ? You know the tune " laided back, i give you laid back" You played it 2 weeks ago, unfortunitly its one of that tunes that the title on your set list does give away what song it actually is ( not your fault)

Complain about this postOla Ricardo, I'm going to Brazil in October for 8 months to volunteer in Rio or Salvador. Before that I have to go to Portugal for 3 months to learn Portuguese! I don't know anything about Brazilian music, but I'm trying to get into it. Can you recommend anything? Obrigado! x x x
