The experiences I’ve had so far with the bursary have been fantastic. The highlight has been a day’s work experience at Abbey Rd studios, where the BBC Orchestra were recording the soundtrack to the new BBC series “The Great Rift”, a natural history program on BBC Two about The Great Rift Valley in Africa. The music was beautiful, and it was the first time I’ve ever been inside a recording studio. Joe and I had the chance to meet the composer of the score, Barnaby Taylor, and conductor Will Goodchild, who talked to us about their inspiration and creative processes. They were fascinating people, and I feel very lucky to have been able to meet them and experience their work at first hand.
