After listening to the mixtape, 'Minor Breaches of Discipline' I had in my head a few ideas of what I was going to do, but I pretty much created the image by trying out different effects and seeing which looked best to me. I found the style to be “up-beat grime”, so I wanted to portray this in the image. With the rough metal background for the ‘grime’ style, I then began adding the portraits of both Rizzle and Sylvester and then adding the type. Once done, I added colour for the ‘up beat’ style while trying to maintain the grime-like feel. From the interview on BBC Blast: “Dark colours that are deep and mysterious”. Personally, I feel that purple is quite a deep colour, and the others were there to compliment it and make it more visually pleasing. Rizzle mentions his love of Polaroid imagery, so I tried to get that in there too. A Polaroid can be used to take a picture of someone / something to help you remember them later. The idea of them being pinned up to a notice board was to convey that they weren’t hugely well known, but are trying to make something of themselves.
