Title: Ed Sheeran's Album Art

Whilst looking through the band profiles, Ed Sheeran’s profile immediately caught my attention. I found that Ed’s personality is very “colourful” so I reflected that in my design. Though my design is relatively simple, I believe that the bursts of red connote the energy portrayed in Ed’s music. I experimented with the layout, and came to the conclusion that by using a metaphor in my work, it would show originality; the metaphor being that Ed is literally oozing with energy. I decided to use gel pens and a fine liner as it is very simple, yet effective in my design. I’ve used a portrait of Ed as a sketch to emphasise the bold colour surrounding his face, but by using bold, black lines, I balanced the image. To finish the design, I used graphic art to brighten the image, then added lettering to assist the fine art.
