BBC Midlands Today wants to hear from the Black Country's best young bands. If you're between 14 and 18 years old, in full-time education and in a band, send in your demos to the BBC Midlands Today's School of Rock competition. The rules - not many - but it must be original music, no covers! The closing date is Friday 20th April '07. Now in its third year, School of Rock has launched some of the region's most talented young bands. The 2005 winners Ripchord are now signed to Sony-backed 1965 Records and will soon be supporting the Kaiser Chiefs on tour. The 2006 winners, Wish of the Day also seem set for great things and recently played Birmingham's NEC. Prizes2007's lucky winner will get the chance to cut a professional demo, shoot a video and perform live at the Rock and Pop Festival at the NEC in July. Those short listed will also get a chance to hear their music broadcast to hundreds of thousands of viewers on BBC One's Midlands Today.
