Blakenall-born Wayne Edwards, better known as ‘Chu’, has worked with leading figures in the art world. He has designed the biggest animation ever to be shown at Walsall's Illuminations. | | Chu |
The Supersonic Watercolours short film shows colourful sprites at work and is shown in a five minute loop for visitors, set to music that Chu has composed. The movie is beamed onto a 40 metre by 20 metre wall of water which is sprayed up into the air by a series of jets in the Arboretum lake. The Illuminations are at Walsall Arboretum from September 16 to October 29 2006. Tickets start at £5 for adults, £3.50 for children. Call: 0845 111 2900 or see: www.walsall-lights.com for more information. | | Walsall Illuminations 2006 |
As well as Supersonic Watercolours, the spectacular lights, laser shows, ferris wheel, children's rides and live entertainment, another new attraction at the 2006 Illuminations is a £1 million 'Stratosphere'. Moving images are projected onto 'Stratosphere', a 15 metre high translucent globe, which has travelled the world in shows from Hong Kong to Paris to London. |
