How to visualise division with an array

Division is used when sharing an amount between a given number. Division is the opposite of multiplying.
The arraymethod is a rectangular grid used for multiplication and division.
Division can be used in real life when splitting the cost of a bill or item between a number of people.

STEP 1 - When setting up the array, the first step is to draw a rectangle.

Division at work

Division can be used to work out the best value for multipack items when shopping.

It can also be used in exchanging currencies when going abroad and in the stock exchange.

When working with ratios, division is used. For example, in hairdressing when mixing hair dye.
