Achievement is a big word!
Sometimes people think achievements are just about getting an ‘A’ in your favourite subject or winning a trophy.
But as Declan and Pip discover in this video, achievement is a lot more than that. Watch to find out.
MUSIC
PIP: Red. Hm … yellow! A da da, da da.
Pip is painting at an easel. Declan arrives with a trophy.
DECLAN: Oh wow! Look what I got! I won this basketball trophy - oh yeah! I love basketball so much!
PIP: That's great Declan, well done. I'm just finishing a painting.
DECLAN: Aw, cool! Did you win anything for it?
PIP: Nope, but I painted my favourite thing in the whole world!
DING
The narrator talks about achievements while we see animations of someone getting an A in a test and sharing a cake.
NARRATOR: Good job, guys. You both did something you love. Sometimes an achievement can be an 'A' in your favourite subject. Or making a really tasty birthday cake for your best friend.
NARRATOR: If you put effort into something that makes you or someone else happy, you are achieving something!
PIP: Yeah! It made me really happy! My favourite thing in the whole world! Declan, if you will…
Pip shows Declan that her painting is of him.
DECLAN: (GASPS) Oh wow! It's me! I've never been inside a painting before! So your painting was a big achievement just like my trophy. We… are…
BOTH: (TOGETHER) Amazing!
BOTH LAUGH
MUSIC
DECLAN: That's good that. Yeah, I like your brush strokes.
PIP: Thank you!
