Exploring Tenerife with Emily
Hello, I'm Emily and I live in Tenerife with my mum - mi madre.
I have three pets, a dog - un perro - a cat - un gato - and a tortoise - una tortuga.
Tenerife is an Island - una isla, off the coast of Spain.
The weather can be very different all over Tenerife.
Where I live in the South, is often very warm.
I love the warm weather because it means I get to be outside and take part in some of my favourite activities.
One of my favourites is swimming, I love going swimming - me encanta nada.
Where we live is very near to the beach, so we can go swimming at all times of the day, in the morning - la mañana, the afternoon - la tarde or sometimes in the evening - la noche.
Tenerife is quite small and has lots of mountains - muchas montañas - where you can get amazing views from all over the island.
Near my house, there is a quite a big mountain called Montaña Roja - the Red Mountain.
We sometimes go there on the weekends, it is very windy at the top of the mountain.
Usually on the weekend - el fin de semana - I go horse riding at the countryside near my home.
I love horse riding because it's very fun, but also because I love animals.
After my lesson, we will all go for a Spanish barbecue - barbacoa.
I love to come to the barbecue with my friends and family to chat and eat delicious food.
In Spain, it is very common to eat outside with your friends and family to order and share your food.
Even after the sun - el sol - sets in Tenerife the temperature is still very warm, because it's so warm we can stay outside until late into the evening.
