Hannah: Hi, I’m Hannah, and I’m a Christian.
There are lots of different groups of Christians. I’m Anglican and this is my church.
I like how it looks on the outside with the tower and stained glass.
We come here to worship, pray and learn from the Bible, usually on Sundays.
Let’s go in!
At the front of the church is the lectern. During services, that’s where people read passages from the Bible. That’s our holy book.
There’s also an altar with a cross on it where Christians can receive bread and wine for communion.
When Christians share bread and wine, we remember Jesus’s sacrifice and how much he loves us.
I will be able to do this when I’m older.
When I go to the altar, I receive a blessing. It makes me feel special.
All of the worshippers together are called the congregation. During the service, we sit in the pews facing the altar.
There is singing, and praying, and usually a sermon. That’s when the reverend reads a passage from the Bible and explains how we can apply it to our life today.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my church. Thanks for visiting!
