Watch - Explore new hospital words
Aria has fallen off of her scooter and hurt her leg. She will need to go to the hospital, where lots of different people are ready to help her.
Hospitals!
Aria is sitting on the floor holding her ankle after falling from her scooter.
That looks like you’re in pain. It’s swollen, but we can’t see what might be hurt inside.
We’ve called an ambulance to take you to the hospital.
The paramedics that drive the ambulance, will see that you arrive safely.
The porter will help us in with a wheelchair.
There are so many different illnesses and injuries, hospitals have lots of people who help.
The nurses and will show you where to go.
Aria is in front of the X-ray machine and the image being taken.
This is an X-ray, it lets us see what’s inside your leg. Those are the bones.
The doctor has looked at the x-ray and nothing is broken.
Aria and the Dr look at the X-ray together.
It’s sprained, so a bit of physio and rest and you’ll be great.
The physio can help stretch and strengthen parts of our body that might feel weak or sore.
The grownup having done something on the scooter now needs medical assistance.
Oh dear, I think we’re going to need another X-ray.
