If you're looking for a way to stimulate your child's summer, help them to try these fun, active challenges from Leeds United Foundation.
Your child can do these activities on their own, with friends, or with you! They're suitable for indoors and outdoors, but make sure there's plenty of space around.
In partnership with Premier League Primary Stars.

Speed bounce

Jump over a cone (or t-shirt/towel) using two feet, either from side-to-side, or forwards and backwards. Keep count of how many times you can do it in 30 seconds, then try again and see if you can beat your personal best. You could make it competitive with your friends or family - challenge them to beat your score!
Parents: This task will help agility and balance, as well as concentration!

One-leg balance

First, set out a small area using four cones, old t-shirts - anything, really. The challenge is to balance on one leg inside that area for 30 seconds. Too easy? Try it on your weaker leg, or increase the time to a minute!

Hurdles

Now, set up those cones (or bundled-up t-shirts/tea towels etc) in a line and try some hurdle shuttles - jump high over each cone, then run back to the start, then do it all again! See how many circuits you can manage in 30 seconds.

Obstacle race

Set out the four cones/t-shirts in a line again and dodge around each one, before running back to the start. See how many shuttles you can do in 30 seconds.
You can get creative to make this activity more challenging too - maybe try balancing a small ball, or some scrunched-up tin foil on a spoon as you go around the course.

Standing long jump

This one is simple - put your feet onto a mark on the ground and see how far forward you can jump, while still landing on your feet. Use a cone or something similar as a marker, so you can see your personal best and try to improve on it each time.

Remember to drink water and breathe slowly, so you can recover quickly after a burst of activity!
