Struggling to make friends

Part ofStudy support

Moving to secondary school is an exciting time with the chance to meet lots of new people. Michael, Callum and Jamie from CBBC’s Our School explain the different ways they made new friends, from trying new activities to finding out interesting facts about their new classmates.

Tips:

  • Be yourself
  • Find people who you have things in common with
  • Try new opportunities available to you outside of school hours
  • Be friendly with everyone, not only people you already know from your primary school
  • Don’t rush it, it takes time to make new friends
