Do you have what it takes to answer these questions from a 1960 Scottish exam paper?
We’ve selected a handful of questions from across six different subject exam papers, all set by the Scottish Education Department in 1960. These exams were taken as part of the Scottish Leaving Certificate, which students typically sat at the age of 17. This makes them roughly equivalent to today’s Highers in Scotland.
Students could choose from a wide range of subjects, from needlework to economic history, typewriting to Latin. You won’t be tested on any of those subjects in this quiz though!
For this quiz, all the questions come from the Lower Grade papers to help make things a bit easier.
If you’re ready to begin, the exam has now started. Good luck!
