Specialising in Jazz, Latin American and Blues, the Ladywood Community School of Music provides quality musical tuition for children and adults of all ages and abilities. In 2001 Andy Hamilton received a grant from the Millenium Commission. He bought instruments and set up the Ladywood Community School of Music with an aim to help keep local children off the streets. Experienced tutors teach youngsters from as young as six a variety of instruments including, the Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Violin, Piano/Keyboards, Guitar, Double Bass and Drums.  | | Andy Hamilton with music students at the school |
About the tutors... Veteran Jazz legend Andy Hamilton teaches saxophone at the music school. Many of Birmingham's best Jazz musicians have been taught by Andy.  | | Paul Foad - Guitar tutor |
Other tutors include Paul Foad, a guitarist with Andy Hamilton and the Bluenotes. Paul has played with some of the great legends of the Jazz world. Piano tutor, Naron Litchmore regularly plays at Andy Hamilton's Sunday lunchtime concerts at the Drum. | "I want to be a great musician" |
