Screen West Midlands, the Birmingham-based arts company has recently been to Mumbai in India. As a result four producers have been in touch with them about using Birmingham as a film location. One producer, Rana Das says the moist climate would create a sensual backdrop for a dance routines. Bollywood frenzy... Bollywood is watched by thousands in the Midlands. Recently a host of stars were in Birmingham creating a frenzy amongst their fans. Former Miss Universe Lara Dutta wowed the crowds at The National Exhibition Centre and Fabulous Fardeen Khan sent the ladies crazy

Currently, Birmingham Museum is celebrating the industry with the 'Cinema India' exhibition. It is showcasing posters from the fantasy film world. One of the highlights is a life size statue of Mr Amitabh Bhachan - a veteran actor who is still going strong. It is the first time that the wax model has been displayed outside Madame Tussauds in London. So move over Mumbai and hello Birmingham! -Bollywood could be knocking on your door some time soon.
