Robert Plant rocks the Jam House

The legendary Led Zeppelin fontman made and unannounced appearance at BBC WM's party at the Jam House - and even hit the stage to perform live with Bev Bevan's band.

ELO star Bev had organised the night for Tuesday 27th October 2009 to raise money for the BBC WM Kidney Kids Appeal.

Bev's band and some of his show biz pals entertained the 350 strong crowd with a selection of classic hits - before the superstar rocker joined them on stage.

Robert supplied the vocals for a number of songs, to the delight of the audience who'd already enjoyed sets from R&B diva Ruby Turner and X-Factor stars Belle Sorelle.

BBC WM personalities were also on hand throughout the night, with Jimmy Franks acting as compere and resident DJ.

Phil Upton and Joanne Malin welcomed several of the live acts to the stage and BBC WM Introducing presenters Brett Birks & Louise Brierley talked about their Thursday night new music programme.

Other stars who performed on stage included singer-songwriter Raymond Froggatt, Danny Kind and Clyde Spencer.
