Frankfurt Market - when lit up at night

Now in its eighth year, Frankfurt Market has evolved into the centrepiece of the city's Christmas celebrations and this year will pair up with Birmingham's Christmas Craft Fair.

The market will enjoy a six week run as over 90 stalls stretch from Victoria Square to New Street selling all manner of German and continental festive treats.

Traditional handmade toys, Christmas decorations, jewellery and craft goods will be on sale and visitors will be able to enjoy German mulled wine (Glühwein), grilled sausages, vegetarian options, pretzels, German beer, gingerbread, crepes and marzipan sweets.

Victoria Square will also house a helter skelter and carousel to keep younger visitors entertained, as well as a traditional bandstand where musicians will perform every lunchtime and evening.

Groups of local carol singers and school children will also be staging special performances throughout the festive period.

Birmingham's Christmas Craft Fair

This year, Frankfurt Market will be joined by Birmingham's Christmas Craft Fair. Double the size of last year, the fair will see over 50 stalls fill Chamberlain Square and the Centenary Way bridge.

Victoria Square at Christmas

Visitors to the Craft Fair can enjoy an entirely different collection of stalls, with local traders selling items created locally and imported from all over the world.

The Frankfurt Market will runs until Tuesday 23rd December in Victoria Square and New Street, and is open from 10am to 9pm daily.

The Craft Fair will run from Thursday 20th November - Tuesday 23rd December in Chamberlain Square and Centenary Way, and is open from 10am to 8pm daily.
