The dragon was snapped by BBC Birmingham website producer Sarah Loat in 2006 as part of the city's Chinese New Year celebrations. Two years later, Australia Post - the Aussie equivalent of the Royal Mail - asked us if they could use the image of the dragon to form the basis of an upcoming postage stamp.  Here it is - the brand new stamp The stamp commemorates the 2008 Beijing Olympics and goes into circulation in June '08. So that's a dragon in Birmingham, photographed during Chinese New Year, picked up by the Australian postal service to promote the Beijing Olympics!  The original photo We've also pulled out Sarah's original photograph so you can compare the the two.BBC WM's Phil Upton @ Breakfast is on the hunt to find the person or persons responsible for creating the dragon in the first place.
