The Twang: Gig review

Birmingham band, The Twang were back this weekend performing a special competition winners only gig at the Barfly on 27th July 2007.

The place was packed and once the lads took to the stage the crowd really took notice.

With the intro to the first song already playing, the frontmen; Phil Etheridge and Martin Saunders came bouncing on. They looked like they really wanted to be there and were up for the performance of a life time. Plus, they were celebrating, it was Phil's birthday after all.

Compared to The Twang's recent gigs, Barfly was a very intimate, yet they played it as though it was to their biggest crowd! The lads were really giving it their all and loving every single minute of it!

Etheridge and Saunders bounce so well off each other and the crowd just got more and more hyped, especially when they their well known single ‘Either Way’.

With a mini mosh pit and crowd surfing, the lads really became involved with the crowd; talking to individuals and dedicating songs. Not to mention the amount of thank you's we got just for being there.

There's just something about a band who really love what they do, giving it their all no matter what. Loving every single second on stage, just because they know they are lucky to be there.

Out of all of the gigs I have been to, I never expected this one to be one of the best. The crowd, the buzz, the performance and the music was just amazing.

I was not surprised about all of the hype they have received and I’m sure that they will just get bigger and bigger.
