The Finishing Post

Located in front of the Grandstand, this is the point where punters will be leaping for joy or tearing up their betting slips in despair.

The Racecourse

Ascot is one of the world's greatest racecourses, and many Berkshire trainers and jockeys also take part.

Pre-Parade Ring

The Pre-Parade Ring is where the horses are walked around by their handler prior to saddling for the race.

This gives the racegoer an opportunity to see the horses ahead of the race. After a few circuits the horse will then be led away to be prepared for the race.

Grandstand

Royal Ascot is internationally renowned as a sporting and social occasion, where tradition, pageantry and fashion all meet in a glorious setting.

The Horse Walk

The horse walk is where the trainers walk the racehorses. While this is not open to the public, they can stand by the railings to watch the horses walking past.

The Parade Ring

Throughout the year the parade ring plays centre stage to the greatest race horses and jockeys in the world.

During Ascot's world famous Royal meeting in June, the arrival of the Royal procession into this 8000-capacity green amphitheatre marks the beginning of each day's proceedings.

Ticket Offices

There are a wide variety of tickets available for race days and they give you access to specific areas.

Plaza Lawns

You can view big screen TVs of all the racing action on the Plaza Lawn.This is also where you can find a varied selection of bars serving champagne, cocktails beer and wine, as well as soft drinks.

There are also hot food options including Chinese cuisine, Thai curries, traditional English fish & chips and gourmet burgers.

The Royal Family

Ascot was founded in 1711 by Queen Anne. Today Royal Ascot is still enthusiastically supported by the Royal Family who attend each day of the races.
