History of Henley Regatta

Henley Regatta: 1888: People messing about in boats during the Henley Regatta on the River Thames.

Even when these ladies were messing about on the Thames in 1888, Henley Regatta had been in place for 49 years. The Regatta began in 1839 as a fair staged by the people of Henley. In 1851 H.R.H. Prince Albert became the Regatta's first Royal Patron.
