PresentersYou are in: Berkshire > Local radio > Presenters > Maggie Philbin Maggie PhilbinCatch up with Maggie Philbin on the Andrew Peach show, each weekday from 7am til 10am. She's always out and about so you never know, she might just pop up on your street! ![]() Maggie's TV career began when she landed herself the role of presenter on Multi-Coloured Swap Shop, but she's best known for the years she spent on the BBC's Tomorrow's World series. Now you can find Maggie on BBC Radio Berkshire each morning - if you know where to look! She's out and about across the county each day so keep your eyes peeled... What makes you laugh?"Anything. The unexpected. As long as no canned laughter follows it... I don't like being told when to laugh. I really want to laugh when I know I can't." What’s your most embarrassing moment on air?"Where do I start?" Where is your favourite place in Berkshire?"The top of Coombe Gibbet. Inkpen hill has glorious views across Berkshire, North Hampshire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire, especially early on summer mornings when there's mist in the valleys either side of the downs. Very, very lovely." What are your most memorable jobs before working for BBC Radio Berkshire?"I've been lucky enough to work with some brilliant people - "Swap Shop" was my first job and Noel was wonderfully relaxed and witty. "Tomorrow's World" was impressive for its journalism and brilliant editor, Richard Reisz, who I consider my professional mentor. "Hospital watch" was BBC Outside Broadcasts at its most impressive - four of us onscreen but 160 camermen, lighting and sound technicians making live "fly on the wall" television. Along the way I've collected some very close friends who continue to make my life outside Radio Berkshire very memorable!" What’s your favourite piece of music?"Changes all the time. I'm very fickle." Above: Maggie on stage at the 2006 Newbury Show. last updated: 16/05/2008 at 17:51 Have Your SayGot a message for Maggie? Leave it here!
