In one of the weirdest stories of the year, earlier this week it was rumoured that Ed Sheeran had been taken to hospital after being cut by a sword, wielded by Princess Beatrice.

Now, during his only gig of 2016, the singer has commented on the visible scar on his face.
"It's nice to be back. I've had a whole year off," he said.
"I went to Japan for about a month and hung out with Japanese people.
"Got my face cut open, anyone read about that?"
It's thought that Princess Beatrice accidentally cut open Ed's face while she was fake-knighting the singer James Blunt.
At a party, James jokingly said he would like to become Sir James.
When Princess Beatrice lifted a ceremonial sword to tap him on the shoulder with it, she swung it back, catching Ed on the cheek.

Lots of fans are calling for Beyonce and Jay Z to call Kanye West, who was taken to hospital last week.
During a performance in California, Kanye criticised Beyonce and then begged for Jay Z to call him before walking off stage.
Later dates on his Saint Pablo tour were then cancelled.
How is Kanye doing?
Reports suggest, external the singer has now been discharged from hospital and is back at home with his family.
It's thought he will continue to get some medical care at home.
There's no word on when Kanye will return to performing or if he'll resume his tour.
