This week marks 10 years since the release of The Dark Knight.
Christopher Nolan's movie - the sequel to Batman Begins - became a cultural phenomenon, external in the summer of 2008, powered largely by Heath Ledger's Oscar winning performance (Ledger died six months before the film's release).

On the whole, 2008 was a pretty epic year for movies - Iron Man, Sex and the City, Twilight, Wall-E and Forgetting Sarah Marshall were also released back then.
