The movie Gifted is out this week, starring Captain America himself, Chris Evans. In the film he plays a single man raising his child prodigy niece. Directed by Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man), the film is receiving mixed reviews.
Little White Lies, external says: "Gifted proves unexpectedly realistic, moving and unpredictable until the very end."
The Telegraph, external says: "The spark and sincerity we occasionally get are the exception to this film’s modest brand, rather than the rule."
The Irish Times, external says: "Gifted gives glorified TV movies a better name."
The premise of the film has got us thinking about the fate of a different type of child star though. The young actors of yesteryear, whose faces once lit up the big and small screens so luminously that they remain in our memories. So, where are they now? What are they up to?
