Lots of men cannot understand this joke about curled hair

You know that feeling when a joke is just completely lost on you? Others seem to get it and find it hilarious, but you're left feeling like an idiot for missing the point?
Well, that has happened to lots of men (and some women - but mostly men) regarding a tweet that's gone viral. It features two images of a woman's curled hair.

When the 18-year-old American, Payton Hicks, posted these before-and-after pictures of her roommate's curled hair, and captioned it "you vs the girl he cheats with", she kicked off a viral storm that seemed to divide along gender lines.
Many female Twitter users responded with knowing glee.


However, many men were completely stumped.



A new battle of the sexes had commenced.
Some attempted to figure it out.

While some women tested their boyfriends to see if they understood it.
