From sexy poo emojis to political piss-takes - has the trend for bad-taste attire gone too far?
As a kid, Halloween is literally about how many sweets you can persuade your neighbours to part with.
Whoever ends up with sherbet flying saucers cascading out of every pocket is judged as officially winning at Halloween.
But as you get older, something strange happens.
The sweetie league table is replaced by a mysterious desire to outdo your mates by sourcing ever more terrifying, outlandish or strangely sexy Halloween costumes.
The resulting fashion parade reliably throws up some bizarre contenders, and this year’s crop is no exception. Here are some of the weirdest costumes for Halloween 2017.

The smiling poo has been around since 2010, external and has become one of the world’s most popular emojis, external. Which is strange, since turds are smelly and gross.
As a costume, the poo raises a lot of questions. Is it poking fun at millennial culture in a knowing and ever-so-ironic way?
Maybe some people just find poo sexy. Or scary. Or both?
Next up we have the 'The Wall' costume on sale in the US that has divided the internet.

While the retailer doesn’t make any reference to Donald Trump’s proposed border wall with Mexico, some social media users have interpreted it as a poorly judged piss-take that makes fun of the president’s divisive campaign pledge.
Others have suggested that the costume might instead refer to Michael Jackson’s 1979 Off The Wall album.

Then there’s this real-life face-swap masterpiece.

Reddit user NikkiGun posted this ultra-2017 costume five days ago under the heading “My husband let me bring my face swap SFX makeup dreams to life!”
The post has had over a thousand comments, with users marvelling at the transformation from the couple’s ordinary state.

One Redditer commented, “This hurts my brain, is Photoshop being used?”
We seriously hope there are at least some visual effects going on…
Another painfully 2017 costume is the sexy fidget spinner.

Here we simply have to ask, which element of the world’s most irritating toy is either sexy or scary?
Can you imagine a horror film based around the already-fading fad? Perhaps Night of the Spinning Dead or The Fidgeting?
Yeah…
The Halloween wardrobe selection has also taken a far darker turn this year, hitting rock bottom with an Anne Frank costume.

Erm…
