You won't believe who had Britain's biggest-selling debut album of 2016

What a year for music 2016 was. Adele did a massive tour, Beyonce dropped Lemonade and the grime scene got bigger and better.

With so much greatness hitting our ears, the best selling British debut album of the year was bound to be something super-cool wasn't it?

Well if you're a fan of game show The Chase, it certainly was.

Yep, Bradley Walsh’s debut LP Chasing Dreams sold 111,650 copies in the UK in 2016, making it the year's biggest-selling debut album by a Brit.

What made it so popular? Well it was his interpretation of big band classics including That's Life and Fly Me To The Moon...

Oh come on, how can it not have been the ex-One Direction bandmate? His debut included the hits Pillowtalk and Like I Would, which were both bangers. Plus, it was released way back in March so there was plenty of time for it to rack up sales.

So good they didn't need to come up with an album name, Stockport's finest had everyone raving (about them) when they launched their debut in August. NME awarded them four out of five stars, and The Guardian review came with the headline "Abba meet Arctic Monkeys". Those are two good groups to be associated with.
