It’s the Tinderella tale that’s got the internet talking

They say the path to true love never runs smoothly, and one American student has found this out the hard way.

Yes, online dating may have made it easier for some people, external to find the person of their dreams, but it does also come with its own challenges. Take Hayden Moll; the student at Missouri State University, made the error of mistakenly swiping past the girl of his dreams on dating app Tinder.

We’ve all been there, Hayden.

But while most will dust themselves off and look at other profiles, Hayden refused to let his love interest, Claudia, disappear into the online dating ether.

Armed with the knowledge that Claudia went to his university, Hayden emailed every single Claudia he could track down at Missouri State – that’s 42 Claudias in total.

“Hello all Claudias at Missouri State” his email read. “I made a rookie mistake on Tinder. I accidentally swiped left on a Claudia’s profile (left is bad) and I really wanted to swipe right.”

After sharing the few details he had of his Claudia and linking to his own Instagram so she could make an informed decision, he asked: “Please message me back with ‘right’ or ‘left’ just so I know if you’re interested or not. If you choose ‘right’ we could totally get some donuts or something, but if you choose ‘left’, that’s cool too.”

Not leaving anything to chance, he appealed to the contacted Claudias to pass the message on: "If it’s none of you Claudias, and you know even more Claudias, please spread the word!"

Turns out Hayden was in luck, and the Claudia in question shared her surprise (and email) with the Twitterverse:

But it was three days before we had some real answers, when US Channel KY3 finally united the twosome for a meeting, external

When asked whether the date over doughnuts was going ahead, Claudia told KY3: "Our school schedules are very busy, so we're still trying to work with that, but I could see it".

If it doesn’t work out, Tinder offered Hayden a way to avoid a similar mishap in future:
