Have your say

Pradeep has a tasting session to decide on a new chef for Saffrons. He’s bowled over by everything he tries, and gets Vinnie to call the guy who made it right away. Pradeep’s phone rings. It’s Vinnie. Pradeep, you’re hired! Rita later reveals it was Dr Masud’s idea to get Pradeep to realise that he makes the best parathas within a 100 mile radius! But Rita needed no convincing that Saffrons is Saffrons because of Pradeep’s cooking.

Kamla is still feeling guilty for forgetting about the anniversary of Mukesh’s death. But Mary tells her that’s the last thing he would want. Mary reminds Kamla of the positive things he has left behind. Suresh is here for Sean and is helping Rita and Pradeep realise their dream. Kamla agrees. Now if only Jai would come home, he could be there for Sean as well. Later, as the rest of the family head to the Crown, Kamla stays at home with her favourite DVD – the one she used to watch with Jai. Rita decides to stay with her, much to Suresh’s annoyance.

Things are a bit lively at the Crown. Dr Masud pops in carrying his old photos to show Mary. They go upstairs to enjoy them in peace and have a good laugh at some of their outfits from the 70s. Dr Masud admits that a photo of Shazia as a baby, which has taken pride of place on the mantelpiece, isn’t of Shazia at all. It’s her cousin. He’s never had the heart to say anything. Should he now?! Meanwhile, Kuljit tells Sean it’s a shame that his band came good and he never got to DJ. Kuls has been practicing his Irish accent all week. Sway joins in the conversation, and they both demonstrate their appalling accent attempts. Sway reveals he has been offered the job he went for on Monday. It’s working for a music shop. Not his dream job, but at least it’s music related. Once again, Kuljit puts their differences aside to say well done …
