The New Year Event at the Parkside is in full swing and despite Shazia having to move her surgery elsewhere, she and Mary are impressed with Deepika’s efforts. They get involved in all of the activities and find themselves having a really good time.
Darren asks Jaggy why he didn’t tell him he was going to Cyrus’s poker night. Darren realises Jaggy must have been with him a few nights ago as well. As Deepika is about to announce the winning ticket number, Jaggy is forced to tell Darren he lost eighteen grand, he should have got out when he was sixty grand up.
Deepika invites Jaggy and Darren to the stage to announce the name of the winner who will be training with Rangers for the day. The draw is done and Jaggy is asked to step aside whilst the winner has a photo with Darren Lester, the man who scored the New Year’s Day hat trick for the local newspaper. Jaggy feels awkward and walks away dialling Cyrus’s number telling him, he’s in.
