Have your say
It’s 11:30pm on New Year’s Eve and Jodie and Sway are at home. Jodie wants to be out with a crowd and suggests the Crown. Sway says that’s a bad idea, but Jodie says they shouldn’t be ashamed to be seen together.
Over at the pub Deepika hands out leaflets in the pub, advertising Salsa and Bhangra. Deepika schmoozes the crowd, promoting her upcoming events. Mary tells Imran she has had a word with Kamla’s cronies. Hopefully Deepika will calm down when they’ve returned her posters. Deepika then makes Mary feel nervous, when she offers her a compliment! Mary offers Imran an OJ, and they joke that Deepika seems to like something a bit stronger. Mary later notices that her leaflets are up all over Silver Street. She thanks Mary, but Mary is clueless.
Nadia heads over to Rita’s and invites Zak in too, but he’s not in the mood. He doesn’t fancy the Crown either. He asks Nadia to say a happy new year for him, and also to pass on his best to Jas when she calls from New York. On his way home, Zak can’t believe his eyes when he sees Jodie and Sway going in to the pub.
As midnight approaches, Imran, Sway and Jodie clink glasses and toast the New Year. As they count down the seconds, Zak turns up with a box of Sway’s belongings and hurls it at Sway. Zak blurts out that he can’t believe Nadia tried to kill herself over Sway. Sway and Zak scuffle, and are broken up by Imran and Deepika. As Zak finally relents he reminds everyone that without him, Nadia has no one.
