Rita reminds Roopa she’s a smart girl. She should aim higher that adult phone work. Roopa admits she feels like she’s banging her head against a brick wall. Rita apologises for putting on the pressure. She’s relieved when Roopa says she’ll accept Jodie’s offer of work. Rita says she’s proud of all her kids, and they head off to the bonfire night at the Parkside.
Over at the centre, Deepika’s making her big speech to the residents. She promises great things for the centre. Rita introduces herself to Deepika. After the pleasantries, Rita mentions that her mother and all her mother’s friends will be boycotting Parkside events, because of the cancelled fitness classes.
Meanwhile, Jodie notices Kuljit has had a few drinks, and asks Vinnie to keep an eye on him. Kuljit tells Rita and Roopa he’s fine. Things are great with the business…and his best mate at his side. Kuljit has a few more drinks and becomes over excited. With the rain coming down, Kuljit goes through the safety barrier to get the fireworks going. Deepika follows behind, trying to stop him. Deepika falls in the mud, as Kuljit is taken away to sober up. Deepika decides Kuljit can’t be trusted. Vinnie stands up for Kuljit. Kuls has been through a rough patch. But Deepika isn’t listening. It’s how you deal with your problems that counts. Deepika’s priority is to make the community happy. Vinnie points out that Deepika seems to have annoyed half the community already!
