Have your say
Arun tells Roopa that Uncle Rajun slipped in the shower, they had to smash down the door to rescue him. Rita’s going to need help, she can’t look after him on her own, she’s already had to miss work and if he falls again when Rita is on her own, what will she do?
Pradeep can’t find the City Farm keys. Kamla saw Rajan looking in the drawer earlier, he’s probably moved them. Kamla warns him that Rajan will just get more dependent on them, he should be in a nursing home.
Rita takes Rajan to work with her, he can speak Gujerati and it will be good for him to get out. There’s an old man at the shared ownership home who only speaks Gujerati. Rajan can help with the translation. Rajan insists on taking his cushion with him. Rita tells him that Pradeep will put the money they found under his mattress into his bank account. Rajan shows Rita his bank book, there’s already thousands in there!
Rita then discovers why he’s been carrying a cushion round with him, it’s stuffed with bank notes and a savings book with thousands of pounds worth of deposits. With all that money they’d be able to get Rajan the best kind of care. She tries to encourage him to appreciate the shared ownership home. It’s not like being in care, he’d have his own flat and he could keep his independence. But Rajan’s adamant he doesn’t want to move out yet, he belongs with his family right now.
