The concert is still in full swing with various acts, including a poem from Dr Masud. Then it’s time for the main event, Sataree! Dr Masud wishes that Zenab could have been there to make her own tribute. Kuljit assures him that she’ll be playing her part. He’s got a special dedication from her that he’ll read out at the end of the night.
Brian comes running at Sandra’s call. She explains how Kenny’s gone home in a strop, jealous of the attention for Mushtaq, and treating her like a doormat. Brian reckons she’d be much better off without him…obviously. He suggests taking her away from all the loud music and he’s got just the place in mind. They slope off to a show flat where Brian doesn’t waste any time. He kisses Sandra passionately and leads her straight to the bedroom. Later as they lie together contentedly Brian admits that he loves her … and Sandra responds that she loves him too, but she’s not ready to make the break yet. There’s too much turmoil with Mushtaq’s death. No amount of persuasion from Brian will sway her and Sandra leaves the flat in tears. They were so close he calls after her; she promised she’d leave Kenny. As he watches Sandra disappear into the night he angrily shouts to the heavens, ‘Damn you Mushtaq, you always had lousy timing!’
