Rozena needs cheering up so she meets Sandra for coffee. Sandra shows her a photo she carries to give herself a laugh when she’s down. Rozena bursts out laughing at the picture of Kenny in a Tarzan outfit! Rozena wants to know all the gossip from the club but Sandra isn’t really up to speed with the business side of things. She mentions that Brian paid a visit though and quizzes Rozena about his and Mushtaq’s history. Rozena wonders why she’s so interested in Brian.
Sandra makes her way to the Parkside to check out the homework club who are working on a music project. There, she bumps into Mary and declares what a good time she had at the Crown on Valentine’s night. Sean was a great host, and Brian was a star, getting the evening going, and what a lovely voice! As Sandra retreats Mary calls Brian to let him know he has an admirer, and that’s not necessarily a good thing!
Shazia returns the scarf Dr Hassan lent her at the match. He invites her in for coffee but she doesn’t want to interrupt his work; she can see he’s in the middle of something. He’s just looking at some old slides he says; tentatively he asks if she’d like to see them. Dr Hassan runs the slides and tells Shazia all about the project he was involved with; collecting data about maternal mortality in the developing world. Shazia sees yet another side to the mysterious Dr Hassan. When the slides are finished Dr Hassan asks Shazia about the scar on her back. Shazia is reluctant to talk about it at first but eventually she confirms his suspicions admitting that her ex-husband caused it. Dr Hassan thanks her for sharing her painful memories and says now she can ask him anything she wants. Shazia doesn’t miss a beat; she wants to know who was the female doctor in so many of the pictures. Dr Hassan replies simply – ‘My wife.’
