Roopa goes with Krishan to pick up Birdyman’s bird table from the pet shop. He’s amazed that she hasn’t got her make up on. Roopa jokes that she’s not expecting any paparazzi! They struggle back to the park with the heavy table, teasing each other and giggling. They set it up and sit down for a rest before the others arrive. As they wait they remember how scared they were of Birdyman at first. Awkwardly, Krishan thanks Roopa for helping him, family are important he says. She pretends to throw up telling Krishan off for being soppy and then starts tickling him to shut him up. He’s saved as their parents arrive with Kamla, Jas and Mary. At least Pradeep’s made the effort and is wearing a tie!
Rozena is busy ringing round all the businesses, snooping on Imran. She’s delighted to hear that things seem to be chaotic and chuckles to herself. Her big brother is sinking! She decides to take Imran some lunch so she can gloat, but when she arrives she discovers all is going swimmingly. Even worse, he’s just negotiated a hefty discount with a supplier that Rozena had failed to make any deals with. She spies a new staff rota and is dismayed to see that the employees have agreed to shifts she could never get them to work. She wonders what all the chaos was earlier and Imran explains that he’s been doing some archiving of bulky old files. It seems he has an answer for everything as he tucks into Rozena’s home cooked lunch.
Mani sees Ranbir sitting alone at Pumpworks and joins him. Mani’s worried that the canalside is getting dangerous again like the old days. He asks Ranbir if he’s seen anyone dodgy hanging around. Ranbir is evasive but Mani is just grateful that Ranbir was there to help Kuljit when he needed him. Ranbir shifts uncomfortably and rushes off to see Kuljit. When he returns he seems much brighter. Mani wonders what Kuljit said to cheer him up. Ranbir shrugs it off, saying that Kuljit’s just been able to put his mind at rest about something.
