Zenab reminds Imran that the shops need managing; they will look after Rangers themselves. Imran just wants Rozena to let go, she’s still interfering. Mushtaq explains that Zenab was meddling in everything when she was expecting Rozena because she was bored. Zenab is glad that Imran will be staying in his own place because she and Mushtaq have got used to their time alone together. Mushtaq seems embarrassed and chokes on his food. Imran needs a favour from Mushtaq, would he pop in to their house and fix the lights because Dr Hassan is expecting a visitor for dinner later.
Mushtaq tells Zenab that maybe Imran should stay with them just to settle back in to the country but Zenab disagrees. He’s lived away, they can’t mollycoddle him anymore. Zenab seductively moves towards him saying they should be able to be in the house together with no disturbances, they must think of their future too. Mushtaq feels awkward and leaves the room.
Dr Hassan and Shazia are eating by candlelight; it reminds Shazia of her student days. During the evening, Dr Hassan mentions the scars on her back. Shazia lies saying she had an accident years ago. They seem to be having a good evening until Mushtaq barges in, thinking no one is in. Mushtaq is surprised that the pair of them know each other. Shazia quickly says they are just friends. Mushtaq tells them to carry on with their meal; he’ll fix the lights in no time.
Dr Hassan props up the cushions for Shazia’s bad back. Mushtaq switches the lights on but Dr Hassan prefers the candlelight and turns them off again, Mushtaq leaves and Shazia takes the opportunity of asking Dr Hassan about why he had to leave for Egypt. He replies by saying he didn’t want to go.
Zenab is exercising when Mushtaq walks in. He apologises for walking away earlier when she wanted them to think about their future and makes it up to her in more ways than one.
